Lent 2020
Lent 2018
The following Lent Lunch programme was planned
Lent Lunches 2018
to raise money for Christian Aid,
will take place at
the United Reformed Church (URC) Hall
for six Fridays from
Friday 16th February — Friday 23rd March
Can you offer to assist with Lent Lunches?
Help for this CTNP annual event is requested from ALL the churches in Newport Pagnell, and from anyone in our community who has two hours to spare on a Friday, even if it is only for one Friday during the six weeks.
Tasks include setting up and laying tables, stirring soup, making tea and coffee, serving tables, washing up, tidying the hall at the end of the session. This may sound like hard work, but working together as a team is enjoyable, and for such a good cause!
Please contact
Jennifer Mazzone 01908 613088 to let her know if/when you are able to give your time, and/or contribute homemade soup, on one or more Friday lunchtimes between 11.30am and 1.45pm.

Lent 2016
CTNP arranged two activities during Lent 2016:
1. Lent lunches
The fantastic total profit to Christian Aid this year was
£2277.85
Many thanks to those who contributed homemade soup and to all who gave their time during the six weeks before Easter to help achieve this excellent result There was a great community spirit and it was pleasing to see people enjoying the social occasion. We had abundant offers of help from the churches of Newport Pagnell and also from people not connected to the churches.
Thanks also to everyone who came along, spent their money and supported us. We rely on you.
2, CTNP Ecumenical Lent Film Study Groups—2016—two pairs of dates
The idea was for the various CTNP congregations to all get together during Lent, to study together and learn from one another. As a change from the York courses we have opted to use two films for Lent 2016. The format will be one meeting to show a film and then, a week later, meeting together to talk about it. This will be repeated the following fortnight.
Each week there will be
- an afternoon meeting on Tuesdays at 2pm-4pm, held in the METHODIST CHURCH, ON THE HIGH STREET, NEWPORT PAGNELL,
- and an evening meeting on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm-9.30pm, held at WESTBURY GRANGE ACTIVITIES ROOM, WESTBURY LANE.
Make a note of the dates convenient for you, and bring friends and neighbours.
